licorice.jpgThis is my favorite candy, licorice allsorts. I used to only like the colored part and not the black, but now I think the whole thing is delicious. There’s a store called “Stanley’s Australian Wine” that I can walk to from my house and I always get Pascall’s Lcorice Allsorts. When we buy it, my brother and I share the colored ones. Jared (my brother) somtimes takes the black licorice off of the sweet stuff and gives it to me. I always get almost all the black licorice in the bag.

TuffyDec 051.JPGThis is my favorite pet, a Jack Russel Terrier. Actually, this is my dog, Tuffy (my mom named him). I like him because he is so hyper. He never runs out of energy . Tuffy is weird because he loves ice cubes and oranges.

converse.jpgThis is my favorite shoe, Converse All Star Low Top but mostly black. This is the shoe I wear right now, but I also have running shoes. I don’t really know why I like them, I just do.

simpsons on the couch.jpgMy favorite cartoon is The Simpsons. My favorite character is Bart because he always gets in trouble but he never learns his lesson. He just does whatever he wants to do. Sideshow Bob wants to kill him.

I like licorice allsorts too Issac!

Well done for writing so well about Stanley’s Australian Wine. Are there a lot of expatriates from Australia in Guam?

Why did your Mum name him Tuffy?

    Bronwyn,
I don’t really know what expatriots are, but as far as I know, there are quite a few Australians at my school. My mom said that she named him Tuffy because it’s a “cute” name.

    Hi Issac:

An expatriate (yes, patriate and patriot have the same Latin root which is why they look and sound similar) is, according to the Oxford dictionary:

Someone who banishes or withdraws themselves from their native land.

If they find living in Australia untenable they will move somewhere else.

Expatriates do this for many reasons. Some of our famous expatriates are Barry Humphries, Germaine Greer and Robert Hughes. They are somewhat unkindly known as ‘the brain drain’, but that is quite unfair considering what they bring to us when they come home.

I’m glad to know there are many Australians in your school.

I agree with your Mum that Tuffy is a cute name.
